Welcome to the Home Page of Stefan Banach (1892 - 1945)
- a page dedicated to one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century.
Thank you for visiting our web-site. Currently the page is in a sketchy preliminary version. But our intention is to make it an official Home Page of Stefan Banach by gathering at one place all the books and articles written by Stefan Banach. Moreover, we will be posting here biographies and recollections of Stefan Banach, and review articles showing the impact of his research on modern mathematics and physics. Our long-term goal is to translate most of the articles available on our Polish Home Page of Stefan Banach including original documents.
This project has been developed under the auspices of the Family of Stefan Banach: Prof. Dr. Hab. Med. Alina Filipowicz-Banach, Prof. Dr. Hab. Waksmundzka-Hajnos, Mrs. Alicja Żuraniewska née Greczek and Dr. Janusz John Greczek. We deeply thank Prof. Filipowicz-Banach, the copyright owner of Stefan Banach's works, for her permission to post copies of all the works on this website.
